Our founder, Katrina, established SD Therapy Supports in Warwick in 2022, and it has stayed deliberately small since. We run supported independent living homes in the Southern Downs, and a support team who work with people in their own homes and communities across regional and rural Queensland and New South Wales. We're small enough that Katrina still knows every participant, and big enough to have someone on call at any hour.

In our homes and out in the community, participants who do not use speech have picture cards to tell us what they want: what to eat, where to go, who to spend time with and when they have had enough for the day. Yes. A short stay with us gives you somewhere comfortable to be for a night, a weekend or longer, and gives the people who usually care for you a proper break. Guests stay in the same homes as our SIL participants, with the same team on shift. If you have not stayed before, come and see the house first and meet a few of the people on your support team and the other housemates.
We are headquartered in Warwick on the Southern Downs and support people across regional and rural Queensland and New South Wales. Country towns and properties often find steady support harder to come by than the cities do, and that is a big part of why we go where we go. If you are on a property out of town, call us and we'll work out the best way forward.

Yes. We are registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and audited against the NDIS Practice Standards. Our support workers hold current NDIS Worker Screening Checks, First Aid and CPR, and work to the NDIS Code of Conduct. From 1 July 2026 registration became compulsory for anyone delivering Supported Independent Living, and we were registered well before that. You're in safe hands.
Yes. We are a registered NIISQ provider. The National Injury Insurance Scheme Queensland funds treatment, care and support for people seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident in Queensland, and being registered means the everyday support written into a NIISQ plan can come from our team. Yes, and it happens more often than you would think. You do not need anyone's permission to change providers. Check the notice period in your current service agreement, then talk to us about when you would like to start. We can work alongside your support coordinator so nothing gets overlooked while the changeover happens.
We're not a 9-5 kind of business and your support needs come first, day and night. Someone is on call twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, for urgent matters and emergencies. You ring the same number you would use during the day, and someone who knows the household answers it. A general enquiry that comes in after hours gets picked up the next working day, so nobody is left waiting on a message.
Absolutely. As much as you want them to be. We work with the whole family unit, because the people around you usually know things a support plan never captures. You decide who gets told what. If you would rather keep things between you and your support workers, that is your call and we will follow it.
